Spent WEEKS trying to decide. Almost got a Kubota B2100 which is a fine tractor. The backhoe issue is something to consider when looking at the JD 4100. Once past that, I went with the JD 4100. I have put it through the paces and it has worked flawlessly.I am VERY happy with it. ....

I bought mine about a week ago. I already have 12 hours on it, Grading and loader work, I love the tractor. I did not have a need for back hoe at this time either, if I did, I would have gone with the B2100 ....

Thumbs up for me too. Have over 100 hours without a hickup and don't expect any as the machine is very good in al respects. Give me an e mail with any specific questions and I will be happy to respond. ....

I have a 4100 HST with 60 inch deck and loader and am very pleased. I would caution you to follow the Deere recommendations for ballasting the tractor for use with the loader. It needs 6 rear wheel weights (or liquid in the rear tires) plus the ballast box with 750 pounds of weight for stability. (This is straight out of the Deere factory recommendations.) Many people do not use enough rear ballast on compact tractors for loader work. ....

I have had ny JD4100 for 3 monthes. It is quite possibly the best tractor I've ever owned. I have 40hr. as of now with no glitches. I have these opts.:gear trans., bar(R1) tires, engine coolant heater, trans. heater, rear worklight kit, DSCV,and chloride in the rear tires. I have these attachments: JD410 loader(53" bucket, pallet forks, bucket level indicator, hood guard, and ballast box with 650lbs. of suitcase weights in it), JD261 3-point hitch mower, JD31B posthole digger with 8" auger, JD550 tiller, JD413 rotary cutter, Land Pride FS500 broadcast spreader, and a Land pride 15 series rear blade (60",tilt included). The JD410 loader is a absoulute blessing. It takes me 2min. to take it completely off and about 3min. to change between the bucket and the pallet forks. Also the 410 has great breakout and lift capacities. The rear blade is also excellent. I have 4 horses and the combo. of the 410 loader and Land Pride rear blade are the best. If I had it to do again I would make the exact same choice. I also take this machine up north on my 18' trailer. This machine is a excellent purchase. Definently better than my bubby's Kubota B2100 with similar attachments. He even agrees. Go for it. ....
